Its time for the Friday We made It Showcase! (Sorry, I'm posting kind of late this time!)
Our long-awaited train week has come to an end! Here are a few of the final things we did...
We made our own train tracks going down the hallway. We pretended to be a train!
We put together a "model train" using toilet paper tubes and index cards! (I think we got that from another blog, Our Crafts N Things, ... but we did it kinda differently and it didn't work out so well... it wouldn't stand up on its own... so we hung it!)
Finally, I served them lunch in a train of paper cups! I used pipe cleaners to hook the cups together, and put a different part of the lunch in each cup... chicken nuggets in one, carrots in one, grapes in one, ranch dressing and ketchup in two more, and finally, a cookie! Little Bear especially thought it was cool! I think someone should invent some sort of train dishware. It could come in a set, and the "cars" of the train could hook together, so parents could use as many cars as they need to for a meal! Wouldn't that be cool? (Hmm, maybe I should unofficially copyright this idea! I thought of it on 4/24/09!!!)
Train week was a lot of fun! Little Bear is already requesting a Bus Week and an Airplane Week! (Too bad I probably can't afford a plane ride!)
Your girls look so cute, and I bet they had lots of fun with the train theme! I really like how you served lunch in a train of cups -- how clever!

What a cool idea! We have a long hallway too - I should try doing the tracks like that.
