I am going through a moment of extreme frustration!
About a week ago, I was attempting to plug my cellphone into the charger, when I broke it! I must have tried to push the charger into the phone's slot the wrong way, or something. At any rate, the phone would no longer charge, with any of the three chargers I own. The battery slowly died, never again to be revived.
This was when I first started getting frustrated! I've owned that phone for about a year (I got it last year after Pufferfish dropped my old phone on the floor at McDonalds and busted it!!!) but cannot get a free new phone for another year. Plus, I owe $328 on my phone bill. (Its for this month and last month... it sounds expensive, but I also have a wifi card on the same account.) So, as of last Thursday, not having enough money to pay the bill, I figured I'd just have to acquire a used phone.
So I went to this site called AA Communications, which is supposed to specialize in getting emergency replacement phones to people cheaply and quickly. I ordered a refurbished Samsung A630.
I went painfully through the weekend with no phone at all! My phone is like my lifeline. I don't actually use the telephone feature very much at all. Mostly I use it for texting, taking and sending pictures, and as a clock and alarm clock. The day before it broke, I even downloaded a game onto my phone, which costed me $3.00!
Anyway I was all excited, counting the days until my new phone would come. I figured it was pretty much like my other phone.
Finally, today, the phone showed up!
But.
My first disappointment came when I realized that it has no camera. The camera is my favorite part of having a phone! I like to take pictures and send them to people. Most of the photos you find on this blog come from my phone! I also send pictures of the kids and send them to Diana and Jimmy throughout the day so they can see what we're doing. So I was like, "No camera? Crap! Oh, well... I guess I can live with no camera for a while..."
Then I tried calling the number that is supposed to let you program the phone. And they said they are unable to program it at this time! I know it can't be because of my bill. Because it told me that before I even entered my phone number! You are supposed to dial *228 on the phone, and as soon as I dialed it, it told me, "We cannot program this phone at this time." When I looked up the problem online, it said the phone could have been reported stolen, or could just be too old of a model, or whatever.
UGH!!!!!
So. Here's my plan.
As soon as I get some money, I am going to go to the Verizon Wireless store and pay the overdue part of my bill. Then, I will show them my old, broken phone, and my new, useless phone. I will see if I can somehow get a new phone. I will send back the useless phone and get a refund. And I will go on with my merry life!
But until then...
I MISS MY PHONE!!!
